Use and Care of dj's touch Creations

Pottery
IMPORTANT:  Our pottery is NOT dishwasher safe; it should be hand washed and dried.  It should NOT be used in microwaves or ovens or on stovetops. In addition, the raku fired pottery is NOT food safe and should NOT be used to hold liquids. Raku pottery should be considered decorative.

Knitted Creations
Our knitted creations MUST be hand-washed in cold water and dried flat. We recommend Eucalan wool wash because it is concentrated, requires no rinsing, inhibits moths/fleas, and leaves the fabric wonderfully soft. It is available unscented or lightly scented with eucalyptus, lavender or grapefruit.

Hoop Purses Expand
Because of the elasticity of the yarn, our hoop purses will expand to hold a lot. The dimensions shown in the albums are based on purse size before stretching. The lining includes two small pockets and one large one. The lining has been made larger than the purse so that when the purse expands, the lining can expand with it.

More About Deborah
As a student of the arts for over 50 years, Deborah’s creative endeavors have included:

  • Throwing and hand-building pottery

  • Knitting and crochet

  • Directing and performing in musicals, operettas, cabarets and choirs

  • Sewing, needlepoint, counted cross-stitch and crewel

  • Painting watercolor, oils, and folk art

  • Writing and photography

  • Facilitating creative recovery/discovery groups.

Retired from a 30-year career in Management Consulting, Deborah now focuses full time on what she loves most—pottery, fiber arts and music.  Trained by master potter Louis “Barry” MacHale III, she creates original pottery as a member of the Aurora Artists Guild using a variety of clays, glazes and firing techniques.

In the fiber arts arena, Deborah develops her own loom knitting designs—creating everything from hats and scarves to purses and kimonos.  She provides individual and small group instruction, and hosts stitch ‘n chats, Knitting Brunches, Knitting High Teas and other special events.

In addition to performing with the First Universalist Singers and Cantabile Chorale, Deborah served as Musical Director and Assistant Stage Director for the Fall 2007 Eagle Bend Players’ production of Oklahoma.
